Nail Of The Day (NOTD) - 17 Poodle Pink

This half term has gone so quickly! I can't believe it's back to school tomorrow...so much homework to do! (And yet I'm here blogging haha...) It's nearly the end of the month, and I thought I would start something new, and try out this NOTD business...

I must confess, I have this terrible habit of picking at my cuticles and the skin around the nail on my fingers and thumbs. This has been a habit of mine since I was very little..it's like my comfort blanket equivalent, but it delivers anything but comfort! My fingers, and thumbs especially are usually really sore, and look pretty disgusting. Oh and I also have a tendency to bite my nails when I get nervous or stressed...

So over half term, I have decided to stop these awful habits of mine. My hands are on their way to recovery! :) Traces of my old ways are still visible, but they are definitely looking healthier! And to keep me motivated, I've decided to start doing NOTD posts. (Aaaand we're finally onto the point...) It's nice, wearing nail varnish after so long.

These are the nail polishes I wore:

17 Lasting Fix - Poodle Pink
17 Shimmer Top Coat Nail Xtras

After applying a base coat, I painted on the Poodle Pink, such a cute name! It has a nice iridescent quality. The colour is really soft, and reminds me of cotton candy, and fluffy poodles I suppose! Haha... I then applied the Shimmer Top Coat, which enhanced the iridescence and gave a nice pearly finish.

Please excuse the cuticle and redness around my nail! I'm quite happy with the colour, it's very understated yet pretty. I've been loving pastel coloured nail varnishes, they're perfect for Spring. It would be nice to add some cheerful colours to my nails, after this long and gloomy winter!

I don't know if these exact nail polishes are still available to buy in Boots, as I got them a while back. Even so, they still apply really well and dried relatively fast too! They were around the £3 mark, and 17 nail polishes are almost always on a 3 for 2 offer. I especially love the top coat, as it can transform any old nail polish and add interest to the finish.

After so long, I'd forgotten the smell of nail varnish, and the importance of having a window open! The smell knocked me out a bit haha...

Hope everyone has had a good weekend!

Hey hunny, about the L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes .. I'm really really picky with my mascaras. The only one mascara I came to like is the avon supershock mascara, which volumises really well. However, I do have to pair it with a lengthening one to get the most out of my lashes. Just a little suggestion :)

@ Aya
It's adorable isn't it! :) Sometimes it's not even the colour that sells a nail polish for me, it's the name! Haha...
